I am looking for a usb hub that supports what the one I have does not.

My issues right now is that I have an external soundcard, two external harddrives, a MIDI-keyboard and a Steelseries mouse.

The only thing that works via the hub is the harddrives, but Mavericks doesn't like it when the Mac goes to sleep since it does not know how to safely dismount the drives beforehand. The mouse isnt recognized at all.

The hub Im using is from Sandström and has its own power supply. Can't seem to have any drivers either.

Any ideas? :)

First, a USB hub has no device specific drivers to load. The necessary drivers are part of the OS.

Second, it sounds like you might have a faulty hub as it sounds like the deviices that use USB power are the ones not working. A couple of hubs to look at are this Anker and this one from AmazonBasics.
