Hey guys,

I want to install windows 8 on my macbook but I have a problem, I cannot select to make an install disk ? It's greyed out. Is the USB install option only available on macbook airs ?

Below is the greyed out tick box I am talking about:

I think I have seen a few people report success with win 8 on macbook airs so you might want to dig through some of the old threads here.

If it were me trying this I would be tempted to do a complete bootcamp win 7 install ( including getting all the bootcamp drivers installed ) ... then under win 7 do the windows 8 install.

Seems like that should get all the plumbing in place first and then you have the win 7 drivers for your machine to ( attempt to ) get put in place for windows 8!
