USB IR sensor bar for Darwiinremote

I'm curious if this would work with Darwiinremote or Remote Buddy for IR mouse movement on my Macbook. I tried a candle and I've seen the DIY guides (way out of my league). I tried the motion sensor movement and it was awkward, slow and imprecise.

Has anyone tried this or heard things about it?

i have not tried that, but it should work.

I built my own that i use with remote buddy, it's great. I just have 2 LEDs stuck to the top of the TV.

Just got it today and works pretty well. It looks almost exactly like the original Wii sensor bar except its LEDs stick out. The cord is a good length.

I had to turn the IR sensitivity way down in Darwiinremote. So far I can't seem to double-click even after changing the A button to LeftClick2 (not sure if that does it). I might buy Remote Buddy because it has more application hotkey options.
