USB male to female extension cable for charging cable.

I need to swap out my old 30 pin cable in my car so I can use my iphone 5 lightening cable.

The issue is I need to use the OEM Apple Lightening cable to work with the ProClip cradle, the 30 pin adaptor wont work with the cover i have to WIDE, and it is to short so I need a male to female extension.

Do I need a USB 2 or a USB 3 extension cable?

USB 2.0 will work just fine. My wife and I use them to extend ours as well.
