USB Microphone and Mac Power Question.

I am using an Elgato Wave 3 USB microphone between my 2016 MacBook Pro and 2018 Mac mini, both with USB-C ports. When I have it connected to the Mac mini and I put it to sleep, the microphone turns off, all of the lights on it turn off. But when I have it connected to the MacBook Pro and I put it to sleep the microphone remains power on, the lights on it remain on. I think at one point it turned off on the MacBook Pro too but I'm not sure. Is there a setting that could fix this with the MacBook Pro? Both Macs are running Big Sur.
