Hello there!

I have got a Mac mini 2014. Since I installed High Sierra, I've got the problem that when I wake up the Mac from sleep mode, the USB mouse (Kensington) is not working anymore. The cursor is stuck. I have to plug it out and back in to make it work again. This happens nearly everytime I wake up my Mini.

Somebody out there having the same issue or having a solution?

I'm looking forward to your answers.

Kind regards,
compukortschnoi

P.S.: The things I've tried:

- SMC Reset
- PRAM deletion
- and – yeees – different USB ports

Yup, similar with a basic $8.00 Logitech mouse after 7 or 8 years use. I bought a new one a couple or three years ago, and am still using it..... problem solved.

Do you have other USB devices plugging into the mini? If so, try disconnecting all of them except the mouse.
New OS may have a problem with one of them but the symptom appears on the mouse, perhaps.

No other USB device attached.

Happened to me once, I restarted and then everything was OK.

Weird thing is that it never happened again. I still do not know what caused it.

It can also be caused by a power draw problem that forced the computer to shut off the USB ports to protect itself.

Dunno, might be, but it was on external power, not battery when this happened? And what can cause the mouse to suddenly draw so much power? Yes, it is an RGB lit mouse, but still...

I'm referring to USB devices trying to draw too much power from the USB ports, for example if you had a USB hub connected.
