USB + Phone installs drivers?

Random question: I plugged in an old Samsung phone through USB just to charge. Does just plugging in a Samsung phone through USB install drivers? Does it make any changes to the system?

Typically not. If there are any drivers they are already present with the system anyhow and nothing would be installed.
