My Usb port connects/disconnects on my iphone 5. It charges the phone but it does it for a few seconds and then it doesnt. It keeps like that up until i find the right angle or who knows. I dont know if it was sand getting inside the port or jailbreaking my phone... Can i damage the phone with this constant connect/disconnect?

Better to find another cable and see if that fixes the issue.

This actually happens alot! You are not the only one! Try blowing on each end to move some dust out then try it again. If this doesn't work, the cord is shot.
Thanks,
Ziffid

I tried with another cable and the same problem happens so it might have been sand getting inside the USB port.

How do you replace the mini usb port? Can you buy the part from Apple?

Thank you! Its been more than a year since I bought my iphone 5 so I am not sure about the warranty...
