USB Port on Airport Extreme

I was just curious of what type of USB port is on the back of the AE. Is it a USB-2 or 3?

Just curious of the speeds I am receiving on my harddrive connected to the AE.

Would it be faster to access that drive remotely if it was connected to my MacMini or the AE?

Mac mini internal drive is faster over network than a USB 2 drive attached to AE.

No problem, sorry it was short and to the point. Maybe a goodthing.

I'm not aware of a refresh yet but, I'm certain it will at least bring USB3 if/when it happens. I believe there are a few threads about it, do a search and you'll find it.

Reason I'm asking..

I just bought an external HD and a Macbook Pro last week and was wondering if I should attach it to my MacMini "Base Station" that stays at home or if the speed would be better attaching it to my Airport extreme.

They both act as hubs basically on one network.
