USB ports cutting out

I have a 24" mid-2007 iMac, and I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as I am, or can diagnose and help solve the problem. (This problem has only occurred as of recently)

I use the USB ports and a USB hub, and recently, sometimes when I unplug something (usually my Arduino) all ports that have something plugged in, on the hub and the computer, stop working. They still give power, but no signal. Any suggestions? (They work after a restart)

My MacBook Pro has issues if I plug in a high powered USB device into each USB port, but I'm not sure about this iMac...

Sounds like an issue to take up at a Genius Bar. How far is your nearest Apple Store?

Unfortunately a quick Google search didn't come up with much (besides this thread), so it doesn't seem like a terribly common problem. I'd also suggest reposting in the iMac forum.
