hi all,
I have an aluminum 20" ACD, and in the past few days it seems that the usb ports on the back of it are failing. First, the d-link bluetooth module I use showed up as the "broken" BT icon when the adapter was plugged in to the right port, so I switched it to the left, and the printer to right. That seemed to work.

Today, I got the broken BT icon on the left port, so I moved the adapter to a usb port directly on the G5, and now it works again. But the soundsticks that I moved from the G5 to the display don't show up as an option in system preferences anymore. The printer is still recognized in all ports, strangely.

I don't understand what's going on here. Why would one port fail, then the other, yet they still recognize some devices and not others?

Finally, this ACD is connected to the G5 that was crushed by the USPS as detailed in another thread. So I'm wondering if this might not be the display at all, but the port on the G5 itself failing.

Thoughts? Please help.

Edit: now the front port on the G5 did not recognize my ipod shuffle for a full minute when I plugged it in (as opposed to maybe a few seconds normally). I think it's the computer... crap. Details of the saga of the destroyed G5 are https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/147223/[/URL
