USB ports not working?

It seems like every hour or so, my keyboard and external hard drive just stops working until I reboot. Could something be wrong with my usb ports? Thanks

Possibly, or you could have some corrupted cache files or PRAM corruption.

Do this first then see if you still have the problem:

1. SMC reset
2. PRAM reset
3. Safe Boot
4. Download OnyX (free maintenance utility) and clean all of your caches, system, user, etc.
5. Run Disk Utility and repair permissions
