My USB ports on my macbook haven't been working correctly. Both of the ports find my iPods, wireless mouse and everything else, but not my USB flash drives [things that contains information] . I've looked for them in System Profiler, and my flash drives that I put in appear in it, but I just can't find the drive and open / put stuff in it. Does anyone know how to fix this or how to access my flash drives? They worked on my macbook before and now they don't.

thanks in advance.

Can you try that usb stick in another computer? Just to see if it's faulty?

Does the computer fail to pick it up when it's plugged in 1 port or all of them?

Possibly not helpful, but I have pretty much the same problem. They seem to work for a short while after a reboot, sometimes, so I think in my case it is most likely software rather than hardware. Just waiting for a natural break so I can send it in to get a check up.

If anyone has any good ideas of how to 'refresh' the USB sub-system that would be much appreciated...
