Ordered my first mac today,
Also bought the following,
Magic Trackpad,
Mobee magic charger,
LMP bluetooth Keypad, and
Mobee Power bar

What I have just realised is that the only time the batteries are going to be charged is when the computer is on

Has this been a problem or are there suitable USB chargers on the market?

I guess I could just have emergency alkaline batteries on standby but is this necessary?
Regards,
Gary

I look at it this way:
- You're only using power on the device when your computer is on
- The charger adds energy faster than you're using it
- Therefore, it should be fine this way

You could always get a powered USB hub and plug them into that, if you want them to charge when the computer is turned off.

I plug my Mobee Magic Charger into a Kanex USB hub that has a charger port.

You can buy a generic USB charger from any IT store. It's basically a cheaper version of the one you get with an iPhone.

Something like this:

Did your Power Bar work with the keyboard? Mine was faulty. Had to send it back because the battery pack did not fit.

Thank you for your reply,
Did not realise there were so many suppliers with Belkin charges
Our local Dick Smiths sells them
As for the Power Bar, still waiting,
Because I maxed out the iMac, I have to wait 2-3 weeks:(
