Is USB restricted mode still a setting in iPadOS 26? I connect my iPad Pro M4 to my Windows PC and iTunes does not see it. The iPad prompts me to Trust the device and asks for my password and shows it is charging, but doesn't show in iTunes. I went to the FaceID & Passcode settings and see no Accessories under Allow Access When Locked, so I can't tell if the USB is set to charge only or not. So frustrating. Am I looking in the wrong place? Apple Devices app also doesn't see it. Reinstalled and rebooted. Rebooted the iPad too. I'm stuck.

I want to wipe it and restore to 18.6 from the IPSW, but need to get my computer to see it to do that. Got an appointment for the Genius Bar for Saturday to borrow a Mac so I can try to rollback this device, but yeah, I am banging my head against the wall trying to figure this out.

It's probably not showing in iTunes or Apple Devices because it doesn't know how to connect to iOS/iPadOS 26. Those drivers haven't been released to the public yet.

On Macs, you need to download the beta version of Xcode or be enrolled in the macOS beta in order to get those beta drivers. I'm not sure how that works on Windows.

Regardless, it sounds like you're not trying to restore it right in the first place. Are you putting your iPad in Recovery Mode? You shouldn't need to "trust" anything if it's in Recovery Mode.

I should have added that I just did an iPhone rollback on Tuesday using this same PC, so it "should" work. It shouldn’t need to be in recovery mode if you are not restoring from a backup. Just connect, click on the device, then shift+click the restore button to choose the IPSW. But I just tried recovery mode anyway and the PC can't see it still, so off to the Apple store this weekend.

Update: Got it working connected to my wife’s Lenovo laptop. Back on 18.6 now. Must have been something wrong with my desktop’s USB?
