Usb-SD card reader

Are there any just-as-good alternatives to the usb-c SD card read that Apple i selling?

I ordered one, but it might now be delivered until january. Meanwhile, I see a few reader at electronic stores. Should I get one of those instead? ...or will they be slower or something?

The USB-C (3.1) SD Card reader will be significantly faster than the USB-A (3.0) Card reader. I purchased the USB-C one from apple when they started their sale and it came within a week. Now just waiting on the computer to get here before Christmas...

Some USB-C to USB-A adapters are having some issues as well reading certain drives. So if you get a cheap USB-A SD card reader and plug it into a Cheap adapter, it could be very slow or not work at all.
