USB Soundcard for Microphone?

So I bought this headset http://is.gd/cCzYj which works on the other computers around my home but not my Aluminium MacBook. After a bit of research I found that this is because the MacBook doesn't support devices which require extra power (they only support self-powered devices).

I am wondering if I get a USB sound card if I could use the Microphone on it?
