Anyone else notice that the price of the USB Superdrive has gone up to $89 ? Ya, I know it's only $10 but what could possibly put up the price of such a banal piece of equipment? I mean, USB? The device should be Lightning anyway, shouldn't it? Just seems odd.

I'm still seeing it as $79 in the US store.

you mean thunderbolt?

Why?
Even at 52x speed, the drive tops out around 8MB/s, less than half of what USB2 can handle.

Or just buy any $20 USB DVD drive. There is nothing special about the Apple one and they all work out of the box....
