Hi, I've got an 8GB thumbdrive which I used before for a clean install for lion.
Now, months later, I bought Mountain Lion and went trough the same steps to create a bootable thumbdrive.
When I finish creating the bootable thumbdrive, I can chose to boot from it in system pref. But when I restart, it will boot into lion and not the thumbdrive.
When I hold down the option key on startup I only see my harddrive and recovery HD, not my thumbdrive. It is weird, because I can also see the thumbdrive in the finder, with all the files from mountain lion in it.
EDIT: I also tried it with the lion diskmaker. Same problem
After my thumbdrive works, my next step is to replace the harddrive, because I bought an SSD. When I replace it, I should be able to format it with the thumbdrive and install Mountain Lion right after it, right?
Thanks in advance
