I need to use just one piece of windows software to program memory banks off of a handheld transceiver, there is a MacOS native app but somehow it doesn't want to work so I want to try to run the Windows software off of an emulator like CrossOver (please don't tell me to use Parallels, don't want to go through the trouble and time consuming of installing Windows and try to make it work), I have a cable which translates USB into a serial port, it is correctly detected by MacOS (High Sierra here) but I won't know how to retrieve its serial port number equivalent which is what I need to try and run the Windows software to program the memory banks (just for the sake of it, a Yaesu VX7 transceiver and Chirp software on Mac or VX7 Commander on Windows, the cable runs a Prolific chip to emulate a serial port).

Any hint would be welcome

Grazie

Crossover isn't decided to work in this way, but there's a slim possibility it'll work: https://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/mac/faq/usbtoserial
