I know this thread has probably been posted a bajillion times before since the unibody mb announcement, but any idea on whether it's possible, or is in fact being done? A USB to Firewire adapter? It obviously wouldn't have the same functionality, but for compatibility's sake.

Well, if nothing else you could get a usb expresscard adapter, and plug a 34mm firewire card into that.

Seeing that all recent PRO mac laptops have firewire 400 or/and Firewire 800, why would you need such a adapter?

Plus all recent Powerbooks/ Macbook Pros also have card slots so you can add another port with a card.

So I think you were meaning to post this in the iBook/Macbook thread instead?

But as for adapter they make them and they do not work.

Maybe their will be hope with USB 3.0?
