connecting their computer to a tv through USB to HDMI?

I stumbled across the Atlona USB to HDMI connector at Costco.

I was thinking about getting the mini or macbook and connecting it to my HUGE widescreen TV. It says "Resolutions supported up to UXGA 1600x1200 or 720p"
Would the display be better since it's being connected to the HDMI?
Anyone every try these or similar item?

Thanks. :D

Why don't you use the video port already present in your MacBook?

Mini Display Port to HDMI

Thanks...just came across the product. Your choice is much better and CHEAPER.

Have you tried it connected to a TV?

I'm concered whether the resolution would be sharp or if it'll be a bit soft(like when you connect other ways to TV). I'm going to be doing Editing and Photoshop work and could really use the extra real estate of the huge bigscreen tv I have.

Connecting your computer to your tv is only well suited for watching films and series, for gaming (that's what I do mostly) and for occasionally showing photos to friends. When comparing the color reproduction on both screens (laptop screen and tv), the colour quality differences are instantly noticeable.
