USB to VGA adapters. Which ones are best?

You guys here are great! You are really helping me to figure out my problem with my computer...

Anyway- I am wondering if any of you have experience with this product & which brands are best.

So far I've found a few:

why not a mini displayport to VGA adapter?

I had a problem with either the mini display port or the adapter... so, I was wondering if I could bi-pass it altogether.

I have to exchange the adapter to see if that's the problem. If not, it may be a problem with the computer...
