I've been looking at some usb 2.0 external capture devices and none of them say that it is compatible with Mac. Is the hardware not compatible or just the bundled software? Can I still capture video and just use iMovie to edit? I have only had a Mac for a short time and am trying to get use to the fact that not everything works with a Mac.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

almost everything i've plugged into a mac works.

only one thing didn't work, and that was a printer from 1998, lawl.

a lot of my peripheral devices don't say that it is compatible with mac's, but they are.

be weary though, there maybe that ONE thing that doesn't work.

if you have a laptop, bring the laptop to the place you want to buy and try to see if it works first.

i was planning on buying online actually, but i might drop by radio shack and see if they have it so i could test it

You could just get an eyetv or tubestick and not worry. Both are on sale, eyetv at 10% off and tubestick with a nice bundle of free stuff.

The hauppage wintv that radioshack sells isn't going to include any mac software, and might not work.

Pinnacle video capture devices that look like a triangle come with eyetv lite software and aren't a good value.
