I bought an HD usb webcam for my MBP today from The Source. System requirements state its compatible with Mac OS 10.5 and above, which I have.

The installation CD comes up as AUTORUN, but doesn't run. I got the camera to work using the photo application "Many Cam" but not with Photo Booth. However, it was extremely slow and unresponsive - do these machines not support USB webcams?

Go to the manufacturer's website and try and download updated software. AUTORUN is something you see on installation files for Windows not Mac. It should work fine by just plugging it in if your machine is capable of handling the video.

I can see through it, just plugging it in without software but its really slow and unresponsive. That was using a photo application called Many Cam because Photobooth uses the isight. Is there a way to change the default camera from iSight?
