Hi, I have a macbook w/ wireless g. I purchased this wireless dongle off of ebay: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...54706&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2838wt_1167

I thine found you need to install a driver that doesn't come w/ it... found them here: http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=3

according to the ebay auction I have the RT2870, so I downloaded and installed the 2nd item from the top. It gets an error about a kext, but then suceeds in installing. After the restart there is two items in the folder (under applications) however, it doesn't seem to be using my usb n dongle... instead its still using the airport one.

Any help? Thanks.

You know, I tried to go the same route once to avoid paying for a $75 Airport riser card and upgrade kit for a G4 Mac Mini... non-Airport wireless dongles just don't seem to work with Macs. The Ralinks thing seemed promising but never actually worked, and finally got me so frustrated I just paid for the kit.
