I've had countless USB drives that I either bought or found (like 10 already) and I ALWAYS ALWAYS lose them because they're not attached to me in any manner.

I decided I want to try wear one around my neck at all times. Like even when I don't immediately need it. I want to have the convenience of having one around at the least expected time.

Because of this, I want it to be waterproof if possible so if I forget to remove it before going in the shower or if it starts to rain and I'm outdoors. Also, I want it to be durable since I'll be wearing it on a dogtag chain 24/7 except for when I remember to remove it when I go shower and maybe when I go sleep (if it bothers me).

So here are my questions:
(When answering these, please keep in mind that I'm currently eyeing the Patriot Flex 32GB Flash Drive as seen on http://www.patriotmemory.com/products/specs/Flex.pdf)

1) Is it waterproof? Shower? Rain? Swimming?
2) Is it durable? No loose plastic or soft metal edges that may chip off or deform from slight impact (from typical necklace wear)
3) Do you think that it could last with this type of wear/usage?

Thank you. :)

P.S. For anyone who is going to post and make fun of me or people like me that think of wearing their USB on their neck, please save it. I know it may seem funny but because of the amount of USBs that I have lost, I'm willing to give this otherwise "geeky" thing a try. Excuse me for that, may you? :)

that corsair survivor looks cool but is the usb itself waterproof or only when it is screwed in with the cap? :)

actually they both seem kind of bigger than what i had in mind. will the patriot (on its own) stand up to day-to-day wear?

Like if i wore the patriot flex on a dog tag chain every day. do you think it would last?

----------

Only when screwed in with the cap.

are the patriot flex usbs waterproof on their own?

i heard that the connectors that are the new style, like they're flat or something, are waterproof. (old style being the one with a metal rectangle around the plug area like 90% of usb peripherals out there)

is this true? so if it gets wet, as long as i wipe the plug area on a dry cloth, it'll be good for use again?

I have no idea about Patriot USBs. You should ask the manufacturer to be sure.
