I am beginning to suspect some uncharted activity is playing through my USB ports.

USB should be straight forward plug and play with a 1 or 0 driver's sentence: connected recognised or not.

Now, my USB is quietly taking its time, having a chitchat and when done connecting my phone and ... charge it!

What the fheck is this party in MY place without me even having to get at least a super loozy number?

Then also my micoprocessor is acting like sometimes a little brownian motivated interruption is pausing executions.

No wonder some people hate apple, this is really really frustrating.

Try a different cable, clean your ports, and don't post after a drink or three ;)

Connecting lingerie looks free of any impurity, neat clear reflecting copper.

I don't drink alcool (now don't tell me I should).

Thanks for the idea though Feenician.

To Mr Blacky, it's the behaviour of it, normally works like this: connect, wait a split second and it's recognised and charging.
But sometimes: connect, wait, wait, wait, chitchat wait, wait, disconnect, connect, wait, wait, wait, chitchat, chitchat, wait, recognise, charge!
And every time I need to connect my phone to the macpro it can go on like that, and its never taking the same time, this is why I talk of random processes, almost .... human.
Bu the strange thing is the fact that the charging process, which should be the more down level thing is also reacting this way. I would understand and tolerate (the mac pro is old, but I should not tolerate, the install is new and there is almost nothing in the mac, still it lags, crazy) no recognition but charge.

There has been a good effort those last years to render transparent and straight services and settings that are crucial for personal computer's performance. Now Apple is always invoking integration as a big variable in performance, which can be true on the high end of performance. For what I am doing... please, two processor at 2.4GHZ 8GBRAM at 1600MHZ and an SSD drive of 500GB half empty, for the poor things I am doing the thing should fly.

But no, strange infatuation seem to grip the instruction stack, I'll take it by your side.

Depressed,

Your attempt to explain your issue left me even more confused. 🤷‍♂️
I've never heard anything about "chitchat" when trying to charge iPhones. Normally it charges right away, but very rarely it won't do anything. If it does NOT charge, all you have to do is to unplug the cable and plug it in again.

Yes, thas IS it. I witness periodically the phone plugged and after 10-20 seconds it starts charging. Before that if it wasn't charging I'd just right away unplug and replug.

The first time it happened I repeatedly unplugged and plugged the charger and because it was not working I just left it there plugged. To my most amazed surprise the phone was charging when I came back. And after some testing I realised that, It was taking its time to begin work O_O.

Guess some capacitor is acting funny, I don't know, or hacked maybe by some funny wizardry which is playing with usb voltage on drivers .... wondering.

But, yes, now it's not doing it anymore.

Thx for the chitchat, I'll advise if it takes of again and I find what it was,
