Hello,

I have a 15" 2010 MBP and was thinking if it was possible to connect a PlayStation 3 to a Macbook via the HDMI cable and use it as a TV. The problem is that I completely don't know how to do it. :(

Any solutions?

Macbooks and MacBook Pros do not have video-in, so there is no way to do a direct connection via cable. Only the 27" iMacs have a video-in.

You would need to purchase something like the Elgato EyeTV.

A search of the forum will turn up a number of threads on doing this.

I normally use a 32" TV for my PS3, but am leaving now to a place where I don't have a TV for some time. Anyone could tell me where to buy that Elgato thing? Could be ebay auction or similar.

You don't want that. It only gives you 480p and there is noticeable lag.

And is there absolutely no other way of connecting that two devices?
