I have a G5 powermac, very happy with it. But i gotta get a windows machine for some apps. sadly im not on intel, and i can't afford a new mac. so i was thinking of putting together a real cheap PC.

would it be possible to set up some kind of switch mechanism and get the PC working with the cinema display aswell as the mac?

Yes, the cinema display will work with a PC. As for a "switch" to use both machines with the same hardware, you might want to look into a KVM switch that will let you share your display, keyboard, mouse, and a few other peripherals with your PC and Mac. :)

Of course if it's an older display with an ADC connector, you'll need a DVI or VGA -> ADC adapter, and they aren't cheap.

Other than the possibility of an adapter, it shouldn't be an issue at all.
