Use ichat to chat with messenger friends

Hi!
I normaly use ichat to chat with my friends, but i have 3 friends using messenger. Is there a way to use ichat to chat with messenger users(like plug-ins or ad-ons), i dont want to use other apps like adium.

There is a workaround, but I haven't tried it (too lazy, rather use Adium )

How does it work, and what about video chats?

Does it work like the way you normaly chat in ichat, and can you do video chats, and if, how does that work?

You can't video or audio chat, but you can type. That's fine for me, as none of my Messenger friends have Windows computers made after 2002, and thus have no microphones or webcams. Nor would they be literate enough to use them without my assistance, anyway.

I used this workaround for a while, but stopped using it and switched to Adium.

Things I didn't like were:
- Giving away my MSN email and password to a third party
- The Jabber server often dropped the MSN transport and I therefore got disconnected, although still connected to Jabber - it's a bit confusing
- It causes issues with your Mac Address Book since all your MSN contacts have new Jabber-hybrid "email addresses"

Overall it's very messy and complex.
