Use iPhone as a wired keyboard

Hi there,

Is it possible to use a jail broken idevice as a wired HID?

I ask this because it would be extremely handy to do some simple things on a computer without having to carry around a keyboard everywhere. All I would need to carry would be my phone (which I already do anyway) and a small lightning to USB cable!

I found an article that lead me to the app. It claims out of the box that the app allows wifi use but in app purchases are available for USB and Bluetooth functionality. It claims you need to install an app on the PC or MAC. It's unclear to me if this is the case with a USB connection as well.

I looked through the article but unfortunately it looks like you do need to have software installed on the machine your wanting to connect the phone to for even USB connection (under where it says you can connect with various mediums in the next paragraph it says "In any case, you’ll have to download the Mobile Mouse Server app on your Mac or PC")

I'm fairly sure for it to work (if even possible) it would require the device to be jailbroken, and couldn't just be done with an app.
