Hi,

Can you use one iPhone as a viewfinder and control to take photos of another iPhone the same way you can use your Apple watch to do so either natively or through a third-party app? I see there are Switch Control options, but I'm talking about not using Wifi and using Bluetooth or any other options since I would like to do this on-the-go in travel settings. I would like to do this in situations where the other iPhone is hard to reach such as use cases where I can tap on the screen to focus from one iPhone using another remotely when it's high up on a selfie stick or in a place other than in my hand directly for example.

I am not aware of any such feature or third-party app, especially if you have these requirements:

Which… If it can’t connect the two devices, how do you think it would control the other?

Anyway… There are standalone cameras with such features. Here’s one I recall seeing demoed/reviewed:

As for a connection, the Insta360 works like a smart flying drone, generating its own wireless network:

Again, this is just one camera I recall with such a function, there are probably dozens of competitors.

Yes there are apps that can do it (at least a few years ago). I did it with mine (iPhone 6 and 5) several years ago.
There’s a bit of a lag but yes. It works. I don’t remember the name of the app.

You are correct, although, following some research, none of the options I found look promising or anything I’d recommend— by the way, a few apps are from a previous inquiry on the MacRumors Forums.

Included because it does have a remote control companion app. However, the app is cinematography-centric, I didn’t see any photography listed features, and neither app is free — seemingly obvious based on the app name, I know, but felt it worth a mention and clarification.

P.S. I probably should have stated things at least slightly differently:
I am not aware of any such feature or remember third-party apps [...]
I don’t recall finding a suitable option/method years back either, then I bought an Apple Watch — not primarily for this reason, of course.
