Use macbook screen as hdmi output

Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a way to use the (retina) macbook's hdmi port as an input port, in other words use the macbook as the data (image and sound) receiver and not sender.
I'm doing this in order to see what data is coming from the other end of the cable.

Be forewarned that capture cards do introduce some delay.
