Instead of using the AVP audio or Airpods could I sync my home theater audio (via my Apple TV) to:

- watch the movie on my AVP
- listen to the synced audio using my powerful home theater with subwoofers

The AVP visuals may be better than my 55" TV.

Thanks

I have been thinking about this and I think you can cast it to your Apple TV which could then output to your stereo but the sync could be off. Another thought is does your stereo accept Bluetooth? That might work. Let me know what you find.

Yeah this is a big one for me that I’m curious about. I’ll be watching for any owners to chime in and try. Maybe AirPlay audio to a receiver and watch on the headset? This would be incredible.

I wish this was the case

If your AVR doesn’t support Bluetooth reception, there are dedicated Bluetooth receivers that output to RCA or Toslink/SPDIF. That will only give you stereo sound though.

That’s the trick of it. How do you get Dolby atmos audio out into the receiver?

BLE 5.2 supports multi-channel in principle, but I don’t think that’s been implemented yet, and it would require specific profiles for the typical home theater multi-channel audio setups, which I also don’t think exist yet. Not to speak of Apple and AVRs supporting that. AirPlay also has no multi-channel support.

OP, the best chance is if Vpro is air playing audio FROM itself to AirPods in ears. If so, then it might be able to Airplay to other kinds of audio devices around you, such as your receiver.

Somebody is going to have to try it with the real thing and see what is possible. My best (wild) guess is no... but, then again, my iPad can Airplay to my Airplay receiver... but can't seem to limit it to only the audio, while retaining the video on the iPad. THAT's essentially what you are seeking here- splitting out the audio to Airplay while retaining the video. I don't think ANYTHING in Apple's lineup does that... but someone correct me if I'm wrong and something does allow such a split.

The closest would be AppleTV in Airplaying audio to HP speakers while sending video to its screen (a TV). Would Vpro consider its screen a virtual one but then "throw" audio to HPs? If so, why not an airplay Receiver instead?
