Are those Mac OS optimization software programs worth using? I'm not sure all what they do on a Mac but they sell themselves on the same premise like on a pc where they make the computer as fast as it used.

There are 'maintenance' applications like Onyx or Tinkertool, but I'm not sure they advertise that they make your system 'as new'.

OS X stays zippy (more or less) as the day you brought it home. I never reinstalled the OS on my MBP, upgraded all the way from Tiger 10.4.something.
