Use snow leopard discs on older mac?

I searched to see if any has asked this...and I didnt find anything so here it goes:

Can I use the snow leopard restore discs that came with my new MBP to install on my older (intel) MBP?

No. They are tied to the model they came with.

No, as the gray restore DVDs are model specific, so they won't work with any other Mac besides the exact model you have.

Snow Leopard costs 29USD if you want to get a working installation DVD.

Btw, MRoogle is a good tool to search this board and will find you answers to most common questions, like yours for example.

I asked the same question, a couple weeks ago. Apparently, you can't do that. As said, above, the gray restore discs are model specific.
