It seems that the 3G iPhone will not realistically be unlockable - as activation will be required in-store, it'll be pretty much impossible to get your hands on one in the first place let alone jailbreak / unlock it!
The 1st Gen iPhone will be running exactly the same software (2.0), and the only real features it won't share with the 3G are, well.. 3G and GPS, both of which a lot of people don't need.
Therefore I can see - if the 2.0 sofware can be unlocked - that prices for used iPhones will stay pretty high, and perhaps even increase.
Just a tip: Don't get rid of yours yet while everyone's throwing them around, there will be much more demand for them in a couple of months or so
