Used Apple TV off of CL

Here's the thing - Is it safe to just buy it? The guy said he can meet me somewhere and I'm wondering if it's safe to buy an apple tv without checking it. Could it be bricked? I obviously can't just plug it in and check it at a starbucks or something...

Not much can go wrong with a Apple TV - but your not saving much purchasing used. An open box at Best Buy or used from eBay with buyer protection seems safer - but little more costly.
