I'm pretty new to Macs, and I'm still learning OS X. Just recently I noticed something strange.
When I open:
<Apple logo> -> About this Mac -> More information -> Mass storage
(I'm not using english version of OS so these names might be different) it tells me that programs take up 40GB of space.
On the other hand, when I select "Programs" catalogue and choose to display information about it, it tells me that the catalogue takes up 18.4GB of space.
It's 21.6GB of difference - wow! What might be the reason why? Maybe it's just my misconception that both values should be at least similar?
