Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about picking up an iBook G3 (http://www.powerbookguy.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16552&cat=0&page=1&featured) running OS 9.2. I'll get it with maxed out RAM and an airport express card. All I need to use it for is broadcasting on Ustream.tv. So, basically, I'll have a DV camcorder plugged in via firewire and then I'll be on the Internet broadcasting via a flash applet. Should this computer be able to handle that task successfully? Please let me know because I've never worked with a G3, or OS 9 for that matter.

So, at max, just like two safari windows open and that should be it at one time.

Thanks so much.

What is the max ram? 1GB? As for OS9, its a huge difference between OSX and OS9...so be prepare for that.

Thanks for the heads up. How would the iBook G4 800 MHz with 768 MB Ram be for this project? This one's running OS 10, so I'd feel a little more comfortable.

I've got an old G3 700 with 640mb RAM, and it's quick enough web browsing and using MS Office 2004 in Tiger. It won't take 1Gb RAM though, I doubt any of the G3 iBooks did.

Also, AirPort is 802.11b, not AirPort Extreme. An AE card won't fit in.

You could probably get a 700-800mhz iBook for $200 if you hunt around.
