Looking for a used ibok g4 on ebay.

He saya

"starts at random then shuts down after a bit. the LCD looks good. not sure what is wrong with this unit"

But he won't offer any more info. But it does work. Could be bad ram or a bigger issue. But it does boot however.

Complete laptop only missing battery and ac adapter.

Is 245 dollars too much without knowing more info?

Could be any number of things, but it could easily be a serious logic board problem. Or it could be a battery issue or RAM. Tough to say since you (or he) don't give any indication. I wouldn't trust this machine for anything more than parts, as there's a decent chance that a serious issue wouldn't be worth repairing. Do you have more details on the machine's specs?

IMHO -buying a computer on ebay is iffy at best. Buying one with known problems is paying someone for their problems (soon to be your problem!)

Put it behind you and move on to a working iBook.

Or he has one without screen. All I need is a keyboard. But it does boot to os.

I only ask cuz all the good 1.33 and 1.4 ones are 500 or 600. So I was wondering chance it. Cuz 1.2 and below had the logic video problem. But I read somewhere 1.33 and 1.4 were fixed.

Otherwise walmart is selling an acer with 1gb ram for 350 dollars. They're all sold out but if I get a rain check I'm good. But it's not mac. And I love mac. More stable, less viruses etc. Only problems is they're so expensive.

Unless I sell the Pismo and 2 Lombard I have at home. But nobodys buying on ebay. I already tried.
