All iPads Used iPad 4 and Retina mini or Air and used 1st gen mini?

I unloaded my iPad 3 on CL and noticed the iPad 4 and 1st gen minis dropping in price drastically.

I can't decide whether to get a new Retina mini or a new Air. What is the best bang for the buck?

I'm leaning towards a used iPad 4 and Retina mini because then I'll have both iPads in Retina. I only use my iPad for Internet and Netflix and reading.

Not much difference between the iPad 3 & 4. You'd have been better off keeping the 3 & getting retina mini.

Since that ship has sailed the iPad 4 & retina mini would also be more future proof as the first gen mini has a 3 year old processor in it.

I think when you're agonizing about what combination of iPads you want is about when you should start spending more time outside and doing other stuff.
