I have to ask, because for weeks I've seen posts of people selling theirs or trading in for only $200-$400. Yet, when I check eBay and all my local places (in Ontario), they're still going for $500 easily.

Not sure where the deals are to be had... I'd happily take one off someones hands for more than Gazelle or Apple would offer on a trade. :D

Ran into this so!! Figured I'll get a 5. Typed in 250-350 max. All that came up were bad ESN or not working. So I increased and found out even USED 5s were still going for 450-500. So I said screw it and bought a 5C

Looked for 35 seconds on Craigslist, found a black iPhone 5 64gb for $400, the same price it was on contract two months ago. Probably took less than the amount of time it took you to make this topic.

Location, location, location. In your case, canada is a far more limited marketet than the USA. Thus, higher resale(not always a bad thing).

Look for the "Or Best Offer" option, low ball them around $350, then work your way up to $400... I bought 2 that way, both are iPhone 5 32gb phones, paid $350 for one and $395 for the other (including shipping).

Lucky! I paid $430 total for mine.

You guys REALLY lucked out. There was no deal like that near me OR on eBay.

$430 is a good deal as well. I'm super excited to have 64GB available, it will most definitely be used by my music collection. Tyler, you should keep looking, deals pop all the time. Some people don't have the luxury of sitting on an item for highest dollar and just need to sell quickly.

unfortunately I didn't know about this and purchased a brand new iPhone 5C for 450. But I haven't taken it out of the plastic yet so maybe I'll re sell

Anybody who's paying more than $400 for a 5 at this point is a sucker. Keep in mind that eBay will take at least 15%

The 5c is cool and all, but I REALLY wanted 64GB. Cool looking phone though, have only seen a few around.

i would keep the 5c,
Since he/she already has it, yeah. But the 5 is still a good choice. Honestly, it was between the 5c and 5 for me but I wanted maximum storage

I dont understand how people can say this? Why is a person stupid for buying a 5 when the 5c is pretty identical as far as specs and is plastic. I am not hating on the plastic, just the fact that I got a 64GB 5 for less than I would pay for a 16GB 5c.
