I just got a hold of a used iPhone, 1st generation. I am currently with Verizon and I want to switch... (its not worth it for me to wait for the 3G... service sucks in this area). Is there a way I can get the old rate and set up a 2 year contract with this used iPhone or do I have get a new 3G phone? If so, does anyone know the old rate?

I believe AT&T said they would honor the old phone plans. It's $20 for data as opposed to $30. I believe the price of everything else (voice, texts) is the same.

I think so, too... but you'd better call them to double check. I also think that once you have an existing plan (such as the 20/month one), even if they drop it (for the 30/month w/ no text plan), you are grandfathered in until you upgrade the iPhone or upgrade the plan yourself.

So I wouls jump on it- that plan WILL disappear June 10.
