alright, so i just got the ipod touch. I got it used off someone and it's already been jailbreaked, or jailbroken, or whatever. I really am not sure what this means, beyond that you can add non-apple-approved applications. Can anyone explain this a little better to me? Like, how I can add apps? And more importantly, how I can delete them? (because this kid had a bunch of annoying, useless apps that are taking up space)

if there's just a faq or something somewhere that'll answer my questions that'd be good too

thanks guys

The term 'jailbroken' means that you can install 3rd party applications.

To do this you use the application 'Installer'. . .you should see this icon.

From Installer, you can both install and uninstall applications(different tabs).

I would check out the Sources page at InstallerApps.

basically a jailbroken iPod Touch is the allowing of 3rd party non- apple approved apps as you said plain and simply really.

there should be an application called installer, this is the key application you need to remove applications and to also install them.

to get more applications available in installer you need to add more sources to installer under the sources button.

there is a list of sources here: http://www.appsafari.com/full-list-of-installerapp-sources/

to add sources in installer simply click the bottom right button labeled sources, then press edit, then add and type the address in (http:// will already be there so anything after that just type in)
