Hi All,

My MS surface pro 3 is on its last leg- super slow and battery last around 2 hours.

Looking at used MBA. Was thinking of the 2018 ones- are those the most current ones?

Anything to look out for on MBA or be aware of? I know Apple had issues with screens and keyboards in the past- does that apply to the MBA?

Probably looking at a 8gb/256gig one

Thanks!

There was a slightly updated 2019 MacBook Air released earlier this year; it has a True Tone color accuracy feature added to the Retina display, and a very slightly revised keyboard design. They also dropped the price slightly on the 2019 model.

Yes, the keyboard issue still applies to both 2018 and 2019 MacBook Airs, although it is perhaps too early to draw many conclusions about the 2019. Apple offers a four year repair program for both models. I don't think that I've heard of screen issues on any of the MacBook Airs.

You can still occasionally find 2017 models for sale new or refurbished; they are reputed to have the most reliable keyboard and the storage can be upgraded with a little effort and not much money, but you give up the Retina screen.
