Hello all
I have a MBP that I bought used. It came with Mountain Lion preinstalled. I never thought about purchasing Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store because I already had it preinstalled. I cannot boot into OS X, only the recovery partition. I've tried repairing the permissions and disk, I've reset PRAM and SMC. The only thing I can think of is restoring the OS.
Now this is where I run into the real problem. I try to reinstall Mountain Lion from the recovery utility but it fails because I didn't purchase it with my Apple ID. The only other computers I have available are all PPC-based Macs. I seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place on this. What can I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
