I have a 23inch Monitor that I use with my Mac Pro and it is plenty big to do all the stuff I need, except when I am working in FCP I would like to have a separate monitor for my bins.

I was thinking about buying a used 17inch Apple Studio monitor that comes with the DVI convertor box.

He wants $165, is that a ok deal?

Do the studio monitors last long when they are this old? The new apple monitors cost way to much just to be used as a second monitor though.

What do you think about buying used monitors or the 17 Studio Monitor?

Ever own one?

OUCH! 165 for a used 17"?

that's about 4 times too high in my book!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'm not one for dual displays, especially different sizes. Too much eye movement and neck stain for me on long hours.

Try placing your palettes in a separate OSX spaces.

So dual displays it make harder now days that screens are so big?

That kind of makes sense, since you have to turn head back and forth lol.

I think I paid almost 2k for my 23inch when it first came out, so I did not think that was that bad.

i paid $1100 for my dell 30" (2560x1600) in Jan 07. It's awesome.

I have no problem with two monitors. neck strain???? wtf... come on, please.. :p

I love my 17" Studio. I have it hooked up using the DVI to ADC converter on my MBP. I got it about 8 months ago and I like it so much, I'm probably going to get a 22" or 23" to replace it when I get some cash. The picture is very good and since I've already got the converter, I don't mind buying another display with ADC. For how old it is, I think its a great looking display. Since he's including the converter which sells new for $100, I'd say its a fair deal for a Studio display.

Yeah I figured I could get a old style 23 inch cinema display off of ebay later, and use the convertor with that.

Then sell the studio.

But I do look forward to using it. Though 17inch sounds tiny, is it really small?

Do you think it would clash with my 23inch aluminum Cinema Display? (it's gotta look better than a Dell next to it).
