Used monolingual to wreck my mac :( my fault...HELP

Hi! i used monoligual (a language removing tool) to remove unused languages on my macbook pro. i aslo made the mistake of removing the ppc arctitictures as well now my mac runs a lil slow and programs like growl's clear dock wont work (says its not universal now). is there away to backup all my settings and user prefrences before i reinstall mac osx (im geussing i have to)? liek is there a way i can reinstal macosx and have my computer basically exactly the same as before i did this? i dont want to loose all my user settings, icalendars etc. Please help me im new to macs and need major help!

Pop in your install disc and do an Archive and Install. It should preserve all of your apps and data while reinstalling the system files you need.
